Privacy Policy

VisaScope collects nothing, transmits nothing, and makes no network requests. There are no servers to send anything to.

WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES

VisaScope reads the visible text of job postings you open, analyses that text inside your browser, and shows you the result. The analysis runs entirely on your device against rules bundled with the extension.

WHAT WE COLLECT

Nothing. VisaScope has no servers, no analytics, no telemetry, no crash reporting, no advertising, and no third-party services. It makes no network requests of any kind.

This is not a policy choice we could quietly reverse — the extension contains no networking code at all. You can verify that yourself in the source.

WHAT IS STORED ON YOUR DEVICE

Your own settings, and nothing else:

These are kept with Chrome's local storage API. They never leave your device and are deleted when you uninstall the extension. Job postings you view are never stored.

PERMISSIONS, AND WHY

Access to websites you visit. Needed to read the job description on the page so it can be classified. Job postings live on thousands of domains, so a fixed list of sites would not work. The text is analysed locally and never sent anywhere.

Active tab. Lets you press the toolbar button to check the page you are looking at. Granted only for that tab, only when you click.

Storage. Holds the two settings above.

THE “ASK CLAUDE” BUTTON

If you press Ask Claude, the extension opens claude.ai in a new tab with a question already typed into it, containing the job posting text and its URL. Nothing is sent by the extension: you are taken to a page with the question written, and you decide whether to send it. If you do, what happens next is governed by Anthropic's privacy policy.

Press nothing and no data leaves your machine.

CHILDREN

VisaScope is not directed at children under 13.

CHANGES

Any change to this policy will be published on this page with an updated date. Because the extension is open source, changes to its behaviour are visible in the commit history.
